Just a few minutes away from Hollanda Montri House you will find JJ Market.
Jing Jai Market is a little north of Chiang Mai’s old city and a pleasant area to relax and sip a coffee. Not to be confused with the JJ (otherwise known as Chatuchak) market in Bangkok, Chiang Mai’s JJ market is much more relaxed. Most of the time Jing Jai market is just a collection of cafes, restaurants, and bars on the outskirts of town.
Every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday morning (6:00 – 9:00) there is a small market with local Thai’s selling organic vegetables and handmade handicrafts. If you are tired of being in the touristic areas of Chiang Mai, then Jing Jai Market will offer you a glimpse into the more peaceful side of Thailand. Walk around the cute shopping complex, choose a café to relax in and read a book. Across the road from Jing Jai Market is Chiang Mai’s largest plant and garden market and also a great place to explore as there are many varieties of plants native to Southeast Asia.
Hollanda Montri Guesthouse is a family-style guesthouse, situated nearby the centre of Chiang Mai.
Surrounded by a tropical garden with many trees you will sleep in cleaner air and in a much quieter atmosphere thanks to the river.
Are you ready for the best food in town? Are you thirsty?
We like to welcome you to our tropical garden setting restaurant and Bar. A delightful place for an open-air breakfast, lunch and dinner.
“Good beds, free bicycle use. Right on the river so you dont feel you are right in the city centre. But the old city is within cycling distance. Wholesale food/vegetable market is 5 min walk away on the river – great place to visit early in the morning. Two of the staff spoke English which was helpful for me. Its also close to one of the main bus stations.”
“The location was fairly close to the city. On a river, with nice views. The atmosphere created at night was lovely, although we seldom stayed in for the night.”
The location by the river was gorgeous. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very kind and helpful. The food was cheap and very good. I enjoyed coming down to the restaurant in the evenings and having a drink and dinner. It was close enough to the Bazaar to walk to and easy enough to get a tuk tuk to other places in Chiang Mai.
For your convenience you can print this text, give it to the tuktuk driver and he will drive you strait to our guesthouse.
